Who we are

Care rooted in dignity, discipline, and hope

New Hope, New Life Healing Center is a licensed addiction treatment and rehabilitation facility in Mai Mahiu, Nakuru County — built to serve individuals and families with comprehensive, compassionate care.

Our story

Built to meet a growing need

New Hope, New Life Healing Center was established to meet a need that is growing across Kenya: safe, professional, affordable addiction treatment that treats people — not just symptoms.

We are health-conscious and client-centered, with a service culture rooted deeply in our organizational values. Our facility is designed for comfort and security, welcoming residents of every religious affiliation, tribe, race, and health background.

Clients have access to a fitness gym, a library, and free Wi-Fi throughout the public areas of the facility — because recovery should happen in an environment that feels like a place of restoration, not confinement.

We also hold our clients — and ourselves — to clear standards. Treatment programs, house rules, work requirements, and curfews are enforced consistently, because structure is part of how healing takes root.

Our vision

A beacon of hope and excellence

To become a beacon of hope and excellence in addiction treatment — empowering individuals to reclaim their lives, reconnect with their communities, and realize their fullest potential. We envision a world where every person affected by addiction has access to compassionate, evidence-based care and the opportunity to thrive in wellness.

Our mission

Holistic care, lasting change

To provide holistic, individualized addiction treatment and rehabilitation services that foster physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being — supporting clients and their families through evidence-based therapies, compassionate care, and a collaborative approach to recovery.

Meet our founder

Dr. Benard Theora

Founder & Director

Dr. Theora has majority ownership and leads New Hope, New Life Healing Center. A licensed counselor and coach with over 25 years of experience, he began his counseling career in the mid-1990s working on the frontlines of Kenya's fight against HIV/AIDS. He holds a PhD in Christian Counseling and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics.

Dr. Theora is passionate about empowering the less fortunate in society and committed to giving people who are ready to dream again the opportunity to do so. He often reflects on Ecclesiastes 9:4: "Anyone who is among the living has hope. Even a live dog is better off than a dead lion." This conviction — that hope is available to anyone still living — is the foundation on which the Center was built.
